Principals

Thad Collum

Thad Collum

Thad is President and has been with the company since 1990. He has a B.A in Economics and English from Ohio Wesleyan University and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Babson College. Prior to joining Henderson-Johnson Thad worked for Security Pacific Bank’s automated bond trading division in NYC and worked for a Venture Capitalist who owned companies in CT and RI. Thad oversees the company’s Accounting and Legal functions as well as the Drywall and Spacesaver/Access Flooring Divisions. Thad is a member of the Association of Walls Ceilings and Interiors Business Forum Council. Thad enjoys skiing and playing golf.

Todd Henderson

Todd Henderson

Todd is Vice President and has been with the company since 2002. He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from University of Illinois, and is a registered Professional Engineer in New York and California. Prior to joining Henderson-Johnson, he designed water and wastewater treatment plants in California for 11 years. Todd oversees the Gyp-Crete, Building Envelope, and Project Management/Purchasing/Safety/Warehouse Divisions, as well as the field. Todd is a board member of the Construction Employers Association, chairman of the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance Annual Conference, and past board member of the Father Champlin Guardian Angel Society. Todd enjoys watching his boys play hockey and lacrosse, and playing golf.

Bob Henderson

Bob Henderson

Bob is the Executive Vice President of Henderson-Johnson and has been with the company since 1963. He is a graduate of Clarkson University. Bob has experience in Estimating and Supervision of installations for many construction systems including EIFS and Stucco. He is the former Manager of the Spray Polyurethane Roofing Division. Bob is a member of the Portland Cement Association, and the National Roofing Contractors Association. He is the Past President of the Syracuse Builders Exchange (SYRABEX), and past Chairman of the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance. Bob is affiliated with the National Kidney Foundation and the American Lung Association.

Administrative

Kathy McRobbie

Kathy McRobbie

Kathy joined the company in 1990. As Administrative Assistant, Kathy handles a cross section of clerical duties and office operation functions. In addition to the administrative support that she provides the office staff, Kathy is also our receptionist. She enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Debbie Kaufman

Debbie Kaufman

Debbie joined the company in 2001. She is an Administrative Assistant for the Gyp-Crete Division as well as clerical support for the Accounting Department. Debbie excels at graphic design and uses this skill for many company training seminars and events. She has a background in the banking industry. Debbie enjoys boating, traveling and outdoor activities.

Jennifer Bunnell

Jennifer Bunnell

Jen is the Paralegal that administers Henderson-Johnson’s contracts and insurance. She joined the company in 2015. Her background includes 17 years as a Senior Corporate Paralegal handling all corporate matters, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, transactional work, and regulatory issues. Jen is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam. Jen enjoys spending time with her family, golfing and volunteers for The Children’s Consortium, On Point for College, Go Red for Women and Say Yes to Education’s Legal Clinic.

Accounting Department

Casey Christopher

Casey Christopher

Casey joined the company in 2017. He graduated from Le Moyne College with a degree in Accounting. Casey is the Manager of the Accounting Department. He supervises all financial and compliance aspects of the company. The previous 9 years he worked for a local CPA firm.

Christine Daley

Christine Daley

Christine joined the company in 2001. She has a BS in Accounting from Syracuse University and a degree in Business Administration from Onondaga Community College. Christine oversees day-to-day activities and is responsible for AR-AIA progress billings, Lien Waivers, weekly payrolls, union remittances, certified payroll reports and minority reporting.

Gary Houser Jr.

Gary Houser Jr.

Gary joined the accounting department in 2017. A graduate of Bryant & Stratton with a degree in Accounting Gary previously worked as a Clerk/Treasurer of a Village and then in an accounting office as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk. Gary does A/R and A/P. When not at work, Gary enjoys spending time with his family.

Gyp-Crete Division

Steve Poplarski

Steve Poplarski

Steve joined the company in 1986 and started the Gyp-Crete Division. He has a degree from Clarkson University and his background includes 9 years with U.S. Gypsum where he held several positions as engineer, manager and regional manager. He is also a licensed erector of Loadmaster Systems. Steve has been a member of the Construction Specification Institute (CSI) for over 29 years and has held a position on the Board of Directors for 15 years. He has received several CSI Distinguished Service Awards. Steve enjoys playing golf.

Terry Whyte

Terry Whyte

Terry joined the company in 2001 and works in the Gyp-Crete Division. He works with Floor Underlayment’s and Lightweight Concrete as an Estimator/PM/Salesperson. He is a graduate of SUNY Cortland with a Sports Management degree. Terry is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys the Adirondacks.

Brian Jipson

Brian Jipson

Brian (Jimmy) Jipson joined the company in 1984. He is the Superintendent for the Gyp-Crete Division, which includes Floor Underlayment, Lightweight Concrete and Loadmaster Systems. He has additional experience in the Urethane Division. Brian served in the US Army for 6 years, specializing in Cargo Handling and Equipment Operation. He enjoys NASCAR and snowmobiling.

Project Management – Purchasing – Safety – Warehouse

Nora McLaughlin-Lantry

Nora McLaughlin-Lantry

Nora joined the company in 1987, and began as a drywall estimator. Today, in addition to her responsibility as Manager of the Project Management Division where she works with the field foremen and superintendent she also oversees purchasing, safety, warehouse and trucking, and the overall facility. Nora is a graduate of Clarkson University with a degree in Industrial Distribution with a study in engineering, management and marketing. Nora enjoys running and has participated in the Freeze-out 5K a fundraiser for the Rescue Mission to help end homelessness, and the Corporate Challenge Race.

Jim Ruszczak

Jim Ruszczak

Jim joined the company in 2014 after graduating from SUNY ESF with a degree in Construction Management. He is a Purchasing Associate in the Project Management division. His responsibilities include managing rental equipment and materials, inventories and the transfer of material and supplies to job sites. Jim enjoys volleyball, and running. He has participated in the Paige Butterfly 5K, a fundraiser that supports Pediatric Cancer, the Freeze-out 5K a fundraiser for the Rescue Mission to help end homelessness, and was twice our company’s winner in the Corporate Challenge Race.

David Cooley

David Cooley

Dave is the HJ Safety Field Officer and joined the company in 2014. He handles site inspections as well as the DOT program for our fleet. He is HAZWOPER trained, has ASP certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and OSHA 10 and 30 certification. Dave has a BS in Chemistry from St. Bonaventure University and a MS in Environmental Management from the University of Maryland University College. Dave enjoys skating, boating and adventuring with his family.

Darren Leitner

Darren Leitner

Darren joined the company in 2009. As Warehouse Manager Darren brings over 15 years of experience as an Operations Manager. He also has his CDL. Darren enjoys the outdoors and when not working he makes time for snowmobiling, hunting and boating.

Paul Renaud

Paul Renaud

Paul joined the company in 2014. He is a CDL Truck Driver and Mechanic for all HJ vehicles and equipment. Paul has over 20 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Crew Leader. In addition to these responsibilities, Paul assists in the Warehouse. He enjoys motorcycling.

Drywall Division

Matt Barden

Matt Barden

Matt joined the company in 2006. Prior to moving to Syracuse, Matt was a Project Manager for a GC in Atlanta GA. As an Estimator in the Drywall Division Matt is responsible for drywall, light gauge metal framing, sheathing, interior framing, insulation, finishes and ceiling bid work. He attended Clarkson University and Broome Community College where he majored in engineering. When time and weather allows, Matt enjoys playing golf.

Shawn Fusillo

Shawn Fusillo

Shawn joined the company in 1994. He was a Union Carpenter and Foreman in the field on a variety of projects throughout Central NY. His vast experience in the field has brought a valuable skill set to his current position as Project Manager in the drywall division.

Nate Archer

Nate Archer

Nate is a Project Manager in the Drywall division and joined the company in 2016.Nate graduated from the State University of New York at Canton with a degree in Industrial Technology Management.Nate enjoys winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding, which makes upstate New York a great place to call home.

Building Envelope Division

Bob Jones

Bob Jones

KBob joined the company in 2005. His career began working for his Father’s roofing and general construction company. After serving in the Army, Bob worked as a Project Manager for the Army Corps of Engineers, spending 5 years in South Korea and Japan. Bob owned and operated a roofing and sheet metal company for 10 years and then worked as an Estimator/PM for a local company. Bob enjoys working on historical projects such as the award winning Onondaga County Courthouse Roof Restoration, a 100-year-old building with copper domes and tile roofing, located in Syracuse. Bob has a degree in Business from the University of Maryland. He is dedicated to working with young people and is active in a number of youth programs in our community.

Emmanuel Johnson

Emmanuel Johnson

EJ joined the company in 2008. As a Project Manager for the Building Envelope Division, EJ works with Metal Roof and Wall Panel Systems, Air and Vapor Barriers, Sprayed Polyurethane Foam, Terra Cotta and other specialty roofing materials. He has a degree in Business Management from SUNY Oswego. He enjoys golf and is an outdoor sportsman.

Jon Zieno

Jon Zieno

Jon joined the company in 2011 and works as a Project Manager/Estimator for the Building Envelope Division. Prior to this, he spent two years as a Union Carpenter in the field. His broad experience includes Single Ply, Shingles, Slate and Metal Roofs as well as Exterior Wall Claddings including Insulated Metal Wall Panels, Aluminum Composite, Single (Skin) and Terra Cotta. He is a graduate of Hartwick College with a degree in economics. Jon had over seven years of experience in the roofing and carpentry field before joining HJ. Jon enjoys the outdoors and hunting.

Matt Clarke

Matt Clarke

Matt joined the company in 2007. He is an Estimator/Project Manager for the Spray Polyurethane Foam Roofing Division. He has a degree in Economics and Business from SUNY Oneonta and is a fourth generation HJ employee. Prior to this, Matt was a journeyman carpenter. He is a fully accredited member of the SPFA (Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance) Professional Certification Program.

Jack Clarke

Jack Clarke

Jack has been with the company since 1979. He started as a Union Carpenter followed by 10 years as a Field Foreman. Jack became Superintendent in 1999. He is responsible for the field management of Drywall and Building Envelope projects. He is a past recipient of the Syracuse Builders Exchange Craftsmanship Award for Excellence. Jack Clarke enjoys the outdoors.

Chris Anklin

Chris Anklin

Chris is the Manager of the Spacesaver Storage Solutions and Raised Access Floor Divisions. He has been with the company since 1982 and has over 30 years and 5 million square feet of Access Floor applications and installation experience in New York State. Consistently recognized as an award winning top sales consultant in the storage solutions industry, Chris has a broad range of market experience, including Academic’s , Athletics, Military and Museum’s. Chris has a degree in Economics and Political Science from Syracuse University and enjoys outdoor activities.

Mike Bellinger

Mike Bellinger

Mike joined the company in 2012. He is Estimator/Project Manager/Sales in the Spacesaver Storage Solutions and Operable Partition Divisions. Mike has a background in business development and account management. Mike’s excellent communication and follow through make him the perfect fit for the complex projects at Henderson-Johnson. Mike is a current Board Member with the CNY Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is an active participant in their annual fundraising events such as Great Strides, 65 Roses and The Extreme Hike in the Adirondacks. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Oswego State University.

Donna Farnham

Donna Farnham

Donna joined the company in 2003. She is the Designer/Project Coordinator for the Spacesaver Storage Solutions Division. She is responsible for the design development, order entry and installation coordination of Spacesaver Systems for all markets including Academic, Athletics, Healthcare and Military and Museums. She has an Interior/Architectural Design degree from Cazenovia College with over 19 years of experience in corporate design and space planning.

Nick Toporzycki

Nick Toporzycki

Nick joined the company in 1976. He has over 40 years’ experience in construction, from an independent business owner, union carpenter to superintendent at HJ. Nick oversees all Spacesaver storage solutions and Raised Access Floor installations throughout New York State. He is a trained and certified Tate technician. Nick has a degree from SUNY Canton in Building Construction. He enjoys riding his Harley.

Jay Ackerman

Jay Ackerman

Jay joined the company in 1997. He is the Foreman and Lead Installer for all Spacesaver Storage Solutions applications. Jay is continuously training, receiving top certification from Spacesaver in a variety of products and vertical market applications. Our customers consistently recognized his successful installations and installation skills.
